Getting to Know Patty…

What a blessed and wonderful journey in life the Lord has given to me and my Husband. I have been married to my one and only true love Scottie Sumner for almost 38 years. I am very blessed to say 33 years of our life together have been in ministry.

What a blessed and wonderful journey in life the Lord has given to me and my Husband. I have been married to my one and only true love Scottie Sumner for almost 38 years. I am very blessed to say 33 years of our life together have been in ministry.
We have 3 beautiful daughters, two good Son in Laws and 5 Grands that bring us such joy.
I am a true Kentucky girl even though I have never watched a U.K. Game ( yep, it’s true). I love going barefoot, wearing a baseball cap and getting my hands dirty in my flower garden.
I have a passion for home decor. I get excited about what a little paint and elbow grease can do to a discarded piece of furniture or a home.
I use InstaGram and blogging as “The Foothills Farmhouse” on a regular basis. The Lord has blessed me to share my faith through these venues across the world to women.
I am most passionate about helping believers become who God has purposed them to be.
When I look back on my life and the people I have met my heart is filled with joy.
From the beginning of our ministry, God gave us a heart towards those who are down and out. From churches who are hurting and in need of love and healing, to those in jails and prisons. Even to a Homeless Shelter! All of these have allowed us to share our faith to countless groups of men and women.
In 2005, My husband and I had the wonderful opportunity to help hurting women by starting a rescue Mission.
The Lighthouse in the Mountains Rescue Mission was a leap of faith for us and a difficult ministry. Yet, one of the most rewarding and fruitful ministries, we have ever had the privilege to be being part of.
In 2000, my husband and I were able to be part of a church planting here in Clay County. It was called “Rehoboth Christian Fellowship” which is now called “The City of Hope Fellowship”. God is awesome!!!
Only He alone, could bring me full circle back to a place where He began to show us His power and faithfulness.
It was here, in this county we first heard Gods call to ministry.
It was here, we stepped out in faith to go full time to Bible College.
It was here, we pastored our first church.. Garrard Baptist Church.
It was here, I made my first visit to a jail and a prison.
It was here, we heard God say, start a Rescue Mission.
I could go on and on. We have so many God empowered “firsts” here in this place.
That’s why we’re so excited to be back in Clay County. We have no doubt God is directing the whole thing.
We know God is up to something. We can’t wait to see what God sized things He has in store for us.
